Rockwell returns to his Obsolete Medium imprint for its third release - “Isolation Ritual”. Featuring the distorted crescendos and dissonant echoes of the Alix Perez supported track ‘Vent’, and ‘Ditch’ - a pulsating and dub-siren heavy collaboration with the man of the moment, Workforce.

“ ’Isolation Ritual’ was borne out of me examining the relationship between my writing practices and my life outside music. For years I would shut myself away from the world in my windowless studio, concentrating on making music. It became normal for me to spend long periods by myself, isolated from the world outside and my friends and family. Over many years I became increasingly withdrawn and detached and struggled for objectivity. Tasks that would normally take an hour were taking days, as I was constantly second-guessing myself. My output ground to a halt.

Making changes to both my creative process and the relationship I have with my music has been massively beneficial to my productivity and also to my wider mental health. Music is starting to flow again naturally. It is a slow process to unlearn years of bad habits, but hopefully ‘Isolation Ritual’ is a step in the right direction.”

One of the most exhilarating talents to come out fo the drum and bass scene in recent times, Rockwell has been heralded by the likes of Billboard, FACT, RA, Mixmag, CRACK and DJ Mag. He has released on some of the biggest and most revered labels in the game - Metalheadz, Critical, Shogun Audio Neosignal and Darkestral - and collaborated with a range of artists including Roni Size, Flowdan, Sam Binga and Breakage.

A past alumnus of both Radio 1’s Residency and ‘In New DJ’s We Trust’’, his debut album ‘Obsolete Medium’ was released on Shogun Audio in 2015 to critical acclaim, with Billboard selecting it as one of their top 10 Electronic LP’s of the year.

2020 sees Rockwell continue on his mission, undertaking further sonic explorations with his label OBSOLETE MEDIUM.
